Знаю этот отелб минимум 15 лет. Сейчас он напоминает гадюшник. Плесень на потолке, облупившаяся краска, сантехника времен ее изобретения. Затхлый запах. Можно использовать для съемок " На дне ."

«Рекомендую для бюджетного отдыха с вьетнамским колоритом»

номера большие с видом на бассейн. Ванна огромная. Потолки 3 метра. Мебель новая.Сантехника исправна. Завтраки хорошие- выбор не слишком велик, но и не мал. Бассейн большой (25х15) и глубокий (1,4- 2.4 метра). Белье, полотенца- новые и чистые. Расположение супер- в центре, но в министерском квартале- поэтому тихо. Здание отеля довольно древнее, но добротное, в колониальном стиле. Конечно, требуется косметический ремонт стен в коридорах.

1.Необходимо урегулировать вопрос пользования бассейном. С 6-00 в нем полно детей, которых обучают плавать. Можно ведь отделить пару дорожек для постояльцев отеля, а детям - остальную часть. 2.Постель слишком мягкая.

This property was outside the main Old Quarter so the big...

This property was outside the main Old Quarter so the big plus was that it was very quiet. It also had a great pool. Good air conditioning. Good bed. Good, though basic, selection of foods at breakfast. Good coffee!

It was further from the main tourist part of the Old Quarter than we thought. The top of the lake is a short walk (10 mins slow walk), to then get to the main tourist street is another 10 to 15 mins slow walk. Of course, there are plenty of scooters etc to take you directly there if you want.

Pool you have two options which is good

Pool you have two options which is good Good location large rooms beds were ok. But too expensive when you can get such lovely hotels in the old quarter (without pool) for such cheap prices. They need to up their game with food and service . Would not stay again. Staff didn’t have much English and were not overly helpful when asked advice.

Breakfast was very average indeed - suggest they bug spray as the whole restaurant was full on fruit flies and other bugs. Egg station was ok but no English again so you just got what you got.

Big comfortable rooms.

Big comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.

Inconsistent wifi. Pool is also used by the public, especially for swimming lessons, so it was usually crowded and noisy.

Good place to stay couple of nights

Friendly staff and good service. We used hotel’s airport shuttle service (18 USD) and a driver was patiently waiting us while our flight was late nearly an hour. The hotel itself is like a relic from the communism’s golden era.

Weird smell in the room, like mould or something... Breakfast was not so good.

Simple comforts

The room was clean and bright. The beds were comfortable and the balcony was pleasent overlooking the pool. Good breakfast and a calm space away from the hustle of Hanoi.

The pool could be a little crowded with children on swimming classes, especially during weekends. However, it is nice for a swim and to cool off.

Local atmosphere

Copied from my TripAdvisor review- Seems like lots of ppl are confused this guesthouse with Army hotel. This is Army guesthouse, the one located near Opera house. This is NOT army hotel. The location is ok. It's walkable to the old quarter if you can stand the weather. The room size is quite big, comparing to small hotels in the center and it even has a balcony. The furniture is very old but well cared.

The pool is quite big and deep(over 2m), but this is definitely not quiet-relaxing pool. It is almost empty during the daytime on weekdays, but it starts getting filled from 7 am in the morning during the weekends. Lots of local kids and families come to enjoy the pool. I quite liked, but if you are looking for the pool you can lay down on the sunbed and read a book in a quiet relaxing air, this is not where you wanna be. The breakfast is basic. Pho tastes good but nothing else.

Army Guest House felt like a Vietnamese Grand Budapest Hotel that Wes Anderson had styled. Very cool. Welcome respite from the hectic Old Quarter.

Nice old hotel with a great outdoor swimming pool

Good breakfast included but be early because items run out. Nice outdoor swimming pool - probably one of the best in Hanoi. Nice to sit around in the evening for a beer with chips. Lovely old colonial building. We can recommend the efficient Hanoi Transfer Service cars: US$16 to be met on arrival into Hanoi airport and taken to the hotel, and US$12 for the return trip to the airport. Best to book online and pay 24 hours before arrival although I did it at Heathrow as we were leaving and it all worked well.

We had emailed the Army Guest House that we were coming from the airport from a flight arriving at 0500 but when we got there at 0600 the place was locked up and the caretaker had to find someone to let us in. Exchange rate at the reception desk was poor. For US$20 I was given 430,000 VND when the official rate is 455,000. Unrelated to the hotel, watch out for Hanoi metered taxi scams. A taxi that was called by the hotel to take us to the Vietnam Military History Museum was 55,000 VND. Coming back the same route in another metered taxi it was 96,000!

Room were huge!

Room were huge!! Pool was fantastic and quite quiet considering the chaos outside. Very clean! It might actually be a military hotel as most of the guests we saw were in some type of uniform or another.

The staff were polite but did not trust us at all. Anywhere we went we had people asking to see our room key. Like 7-8 times in a 12 hour period.

Pool is visited by locals and other tourists not residing in the hotel. There was Swimming lessons in the pool and we could not swim without getting in their way.
